Our Top Tips For Couples Hosting a Summer Wedding
1. Have Your Wedding Later In The Afternoon:
There are two reasons we suggest having weddings later in the day during Summer.
Firstly, you’ll have the best lighting for your wedding photos as it won’t be too bright. And secondly, it’s more comfortable for your guests, as it’s cools down into the afternoon/evening with the afternoon breeze.
2. Seat The Guests Right Before The Bride Arrives:
It’s quite unpleasant sitting in the heat for a long period of time – particularly for elderly guests.
That’s why we seat the guests for the ceremony just before the bride arrives.
3. Use Umbrellas, Fans and Air Conditioning to Keep Guests Cool:
Keep your guests cool by supplying parasols and fans. This is something we do for our ceremonies on The Terrace. We also have outdoor umbrellas which provide extra shade.
In the reception room we have air-conditioning and get the lovely cool mountain breeze in the afternoons.
4. *Top Tip* Stay Hydrated and Keep Your Guests Hydrated:
Ensuring you’ve got fluids readily available for your guests is very important. Remind them to keep drinking water and ensure everyone eats as well.
Why pick Glengariff Historic Estate for a Summer Celebration
Summer in Queensland can be a pretty special time of year, and we’re lucky to experience beautiful sunsets from our venue, as well as thick lush gardens and vineyards.
We have the perfect venue where guests can enjoy the outdoors and beautiful garden during the ceremony overlooking the rolling mountains and uninterrupted views of the Dayboro Valley.
Also, we ensure our couples and guests are comfortable no matter what the season.
In summer we have a high number of staff ready to serve an assortment of welcome drinks. They include water, juices and soft drinks, mocktails or a glass of bubbles.
We also hand out parasols and fans for Summer ceremonies, and have areas with shade.
Wet Weather Wedding Plan
There’s no denying there’s a chance of rain or a Summer storm during those hotter months.
But we seem to be pretty lucky on wedding days with rain and most often it seems to disappear in time for the ceremony outside.
If it does rain and it doesn’t stop though, there’s no need to worry! We have a wonderful contingency plan in place – and will hold your ceremony upstairs in the vintage room.
The vintage room has the same outlook over the mountains and a ceremony inside here includes a full ceremony set up with surround sound, canapes and drinks.
