A 150-year-old country wedding and elopement venue near Brisbane, exclusively yours for your special day.
Glengariff Historic Estate, a 150-year-old wedding and events venue on 30 acres in King Scrub, near Dayboro, is owned by local couple Kate and Brenden Beal. The husband-and-wife team purchased the estate in 2026 after attending weddings here for over a decade, and are excited to be custodians for this next chapter. The venue reopened in September 2026.
Glengariff Historic Estate has been part of Queensland’s heritage since the 1870s and is one of the oldest privately owned family properties in the state. It’s named after the hometown of original settler Honorah Doyle, who arrived in King Scrub from a small village in County Cork, Ireland, in 1876, and built a working dairy farm from the ground up.
Over the following century, the estate evolved from dairy farm to vineyard and winery, then into an award-winning wedding and events venue. It closed its gates in 2022, and has now reopened under new ownership.
Kate and Brenden Beal aren’t strangers to Glengariff, having attended weddings here for over a decade, including the wedding of Kate’s best friend in 2015, where she was maid of honour.
“It feels like such a dream come true to now be part of the Glengariff story, a part where I get to share this unforgettable venue with a whole new generation of couples.”
– Kate Beal
Married for ten years, Kate spent 15 years working as a registered nurse before starting at Glengariff, and calls this new chapter a full circle moment, from being present for the hardest days in people’s lives to now being part of their best ones.
Kate now runs the wedding and events side of the estate day to day, from private viewings to bookings.
Brenden has spent two decades running an electrical and communications business across South East Queensland. He now manages the Glengariff office and the surrounding acreage, from the paperwork through to the fence lines.
We love celebrating love. It’s an honour to be part of one of the most important days in people’s lives, supporting couples and families while admiring the beauty, and the work, that goes into planning their day.
A lot of people, family, friends and small businesses, help bring a day together, and we’re here to make that easier for all of them.
Glengariff Historic Estate holds four ABIA awards, including 2021 Winner, Ceremony Venue.
When the estate closed its gates in 2021, it was a genuine loss for the local community. Now, Glengariff reopens in September 2026, ready to welcome the next generation of couples and guests back to the estate.
